Stomach Upsets


Stomach upsets can be a food poisoning if abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting come with it. It also can be caused by an excess of rich food or too much alcohol leading to gastritis. Sometime stomach upsets are associated with chills so warming herbs can be useful to decrease the complaint.

Make a warming tea:
  • 1 slice fresh ginger root
  • 1 teaspoon lemon balm
  • Simmer the ginger in 1.5 cups of water for 20 minutes and then pour the liquid over the lemon balm and infuse for a further 10 minutes. Strain and drink up.
In some cases stomach upsets, the problem can be stress-related with any increase in nervous tension or anxiety levels leading to stomach discomfort. That’s why relaxing herb such as lemon balm and chamomile teas can reduce the discomfort.

Tennis Elbow




Tennis elbow is an elbow pain cause by overuse of arm and forearm muscles. It doesn’t mean the pain comes when you play tennis. The term is used because it can be a significant problem for some tennis player. Specifically this is caused by abrupt or subtle injury of the muscle and tendon area around the outside of the elbow.

For tennis elbow problem, direct application of herbal anti-inflammations can reduce the symptoms. Add 5 drops each of lavender oil and either yarrow or chamomile oil to 1 teaspoon of St. John’s wort oil and message into the area 3-4 times a day.

Toothache and Gum Problem Herbal Treatment


During waiting for medical treatment from a dentist, there were ways to reduce toothache and gum problems:

Put 2-3 drops of clove oil on the gum next to the tot or suck a dried clove, holding the flower bud as close as possible to the painful tooth. Oil can be put also on a cotton swab and hold it against the gum. In the same way above, you can use peppermint oil

For a filling that has come out, make a firm paste from slippery elm powder and water and put it in the hole until a dentist can fill the cavity properly. After extractions, take arnica 6x tablets two to three times daily for two to three days and use a mouth rinse made from sage infusion (1 teaspoon of herb to a cup of boiling water) with a pinch of salt as often as possible.

Bleeding gums can be eased by mouth washes of sage, marigold, or eyebright infusion; use 2 teaspoons to a cup of water and rinse the mouth thoroughly every two to three hours. Add a pinch of salt to the mixture to increase the antiseptic effect.

Persistent gum problems need professional help as they may eventually cause teeth to loosen and fall out.

Vaginal Yeast Infection Herbal Treatment


A milky discharge and itching that commonly occurs in the vagina mostly cause by fungus. That’s called as Vaginal Yeast Infection. It is often associated with excessive use of antibiotic and use of spermicides in contraception.

Take two or four capsules of Lactobacillus acidophilusa and eat two or three serving of plain yogurt will restore friendly bacteria balance that is beneficial for health. Encourage not to eat sugar, fermented food or alcohol that all increase yeasts growth.

Drink up to 3 cups of marigold tea during the day and use at least two clove of garlic in cooking, or use Echinacea decoction instead of marigold

Two or three drop of tea tree oil on a tampon for topical vaginal treatment. Push ¼ inch of the tampon out of applicator moistened by tea tree oil and push the tampon back, insert into vagina and leave it for no more than three hours. Do it 2-3 times daily.

Warts



Wart is commonly found on hands, knees, and face and most common in younger people. It can also be found on the soles of the feet and veneral / genital area. It becomes contagious because of spreading as the virus comes into contact with damaged skin or whan flakes of wart touch the moist skin areas.

Most of warts are harmless and will disappear accord eventually. But in some cases the warts can remain dormant and reappearing from time to time.

Herbal Treatments for Wart:
  • Put 1 drop of tea tree oil onto the wart night and morning, or
  • Squeeze 1-2 drops of dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) sap or the bright yellow sap of greater celandine (Chelidonium major) directly onto the wart each day, or
  • Tea tree cream 2-3 times a day for wart on the soles of the feet
